Ha-Lo Industries, Niles, Ill., will acquire Internet company Westminster International Computers as part of the No. 6 marketing services company's "e-transformation" strategy to merge offline branding capabilities with the online world. Toronto-based Westminster, which specializes in e-mail marketing and customized Web pages, will become part of the direct division of Upshot, Ha-Lo's brand marketing agency. The acquisition will enable Ha-Lo to use Westminster's patented YourMail technology to extend offline customer profiles online during a consumer's first interaction with a company on the Web. Marketers can use the data to create individualized Web pages and send personalized e-mail messages to consumers.

Harte-Hanks, San Antonio, is enabling pharmaceutical marketers to deliver prescription drug samples to physicians and sales representatives via its 1:1 marketing platform. The capability will be added to the database marketing and direct-to-consumer loyalty programs that the agency provides for the pharmaceutical industry.

Merkley Newman Harty's Team South, New York, was renamed I2i Communications to reflect the direct marketing agency's mission to create successful interactions among individuals in business-to-business and business-to-consumer sectors.
