Chrysler Corp. has signed a multiyear contract to be the first-ever presenting sponsor of the Monterey Historic Automobile Races, slated for Aug. 18 to 20 at the Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, Calif. Chrysler will also honor more than 300 Dodge Viper owners during the event for the concurrent second annual Viper Owners Invitational.

Disney Adventures magazine and Pillsbury Co. are teaming up for a back-to-school promotion hitting supermarkets this month, offering kids a special 64-page edition filled with updates on what's hot this fall. The special edition of Disney Adventures is available with two proofs-of-purchase of Pillsbury's Toaster Strudel or Totino's Party Pizza. The promotion also includes an on-pack subscription savings offer for the magazine and a free standing insert dropped Aug. 13 to 53 million households nationwide supporting the promotion, which continues through October.

Coupon distribution rose during the first six months of the year vs. the first half of 1994, reports CMS, a Winston-Salem, N.C.-based coupon redemption management company. Coupon expiration dates, however, have shortened. Redemption dropped 3% to 3.4 billion during the period, despite a 2% increase in coupon distribution to 167 billion. The average expiration period for coupons was 3.6 months for the first half of '95, down from 3.7 months a year ago.
