Promotion Marketing Association of America, New York, named John A. Kalemkerian executive director. He was previously VP-customer support at the Agency-Company Organization for Research & Development, an insurance industry group. Mr. Kalemkerian succeeds Richard I. Hersh, who was named to the post last spring but was unable to serve for medical reasons.

Duracell, Bethel, Conn., kicks off a National Football League-theme promotion for its batteries this fall, powered by two national free standing newspaper inserts dropping to 44 million households each with coupons; print and broadcast ads; and point-of-purchase support. The first FSI, Oct. 1, offers an "Inside the Super Bowl" video, available through mail-in for $14.95 plus four proofs-of-purchase. A second FSI drops Jan. 14, offering a free Super Bowl XXX poster through mail-in with three proofs-of-purchase.
