International Vision Foundation awards global ad account to Canadian agency

TORONTO--The International Vision Calls Foundation, which is dedicated to the elimination of avoidable blindness globally, has appointed Homes & Lee, to raise its profile globally.

Vision Calls will officially launch in China in September. Registered in Canada, the foundation is collaborating with two other organizations, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness (IAPB), under the umbrella of Vision 2020: "The Right to Sight Global Initiative.''

Four key fund development initiatives are being launched this year. The first is entitled ``The Sound of Sight,'' with a strategy to collect and resell unused, deactivated wireless phones, donated by people around the world.

The initial global promotional budget is $3.5 million, but Holmes & Lee expects this to reach up to $30 million.

"We are honored to have been chosen for this important venture, and consider that our responsibilities transcend traditional business endeavors, due to the global fact that the human race is, statistically, slowly going blind,'' says John Lee, president of Holmes & Lee.

The official world launch of the Foundation will be held at the Sixth General Assembly in Beijing on September 5.
