Internet use by American consumers this year is proving to be higher than previously predicted last year, according to new data from Wirthlin Worldwide, McLean, Va. Over the past three months 42 million adults have used the Internet or online services, opposed to the 25 million predicted last year. If growth continues as expected, the adult Internet audience could be as large as 72 million by the end of 1996.
