(April 18, 2001) -- ivillage, New York, today stood by its earlier projections for first-quarter 2001 revenues and announced the layoff of about 30 employees, or 9.5% of its workforce.

iVillage expects revenues between $12 million and $14 million for the quarter. The company indicated in February that revenue falloff from fourth-quarter 2000 to first-quarter 2001 would not exceed 35%.

For the full fiscal year 2001, iVillage expects single-digit percentage growth in revenue as compared to fiscal year 2000 revenue. iVillage also expects that EBITDA loss will be less than $10 million.

In addition, Edward Reilly has been elected the eighth member of the company's board of directors. Reilly, 54, most recently served as president and CEO of Big Flower Holdings. He also is incoming chairman of the board of the Advertising Council. iVillage's network of women-oriented media properties includes iVillage.com, Lamaze Publishing and the Newborn Channel. -- Adrienne Mand
