iVillage merges parenting content

In an effort to widen its content channel, iVillage announced plans on Monday to merge its Parent Soup brand with ParentsPlace.com, another parenting content site, and to develop an advertising agreement with America Online's Moms Online area.

"What we've done is begin building Parent Soup out as a network," said iVillage's Robert Levitan, senior VP-market development. "This will be done with acquisitions and affiliations."
