J.D. Power sites discuss privacy

J.D. Power Clubs is making its privacy policy public with an e-mail message to members, explaining that all personal information will not be disclosed. The company hopes that going on record with its privacy rules will increase consumer confidence in online buying. The full privacy statement also is posted on J.D. Power Clubs Web sites (jdpower.com and carclub.com). The San Francisco-based company's goal is to educate consumers to facilitate transactions through its network of participating retailers. J.D. Power's first club, Carclub.com, helps consumers shop for new and used vehicles as well as find information about financing and insurance.
