Ask Jeeves seeks agency after split with Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper

LONDON--Internet search engine Ask Jeeves is looking for a new ad agency to handle its $16 million business in the U.K. after parting with Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper, London, after just six months.

The split follows a growing conflict of interest with Euro RSCG client, Microsoft-owned search engine msn. Adrian Cox, recently appointed VP-marketing at Ask Jeeves, says: "The advertising so far has done a good job in terms of brand awareness. More than 1.7 million unique visitors have been attracted to the site. But we are now looking for a long-term relationship with an agency."

Three to four agencies will be shortlisted, he says.

The media business, handled by Mediapolis, is not affected by the review.
