Awards are a big part of Cannes, but parties are, too. So Advertising Age decided to award its own Grand Prix in five categories rating the fetes.

Most laid-back hosts

The Clemmow Hornby Inge 5th anniversary boat party had the relaxed vibe that made you forget the media circus and remember that you were in a beautiful seaside resort.

Best beach bash

Once past the bouncers, guests at DDB's Friday night party on Martinez Beach could stroll out to the pier or stride onto the dance floor with hands in the air. Even Omnicom President-CEO John Wren was shaking his booty this year!

Biggest celeb spectator

At the BBDO cocktail party, a synchronized-swimming troupe and a band called the Gold Singers entertained the advertising elite, and tempted hotel guest Woody Allen out onto his balcony with his wife, Soon Yi, to enjoy the spectacle.

Best dance floor

Leo Burnett's party at Le Palm Beach had it all-top London DJs, a stunning location and a cool, fun-loving crowd. The dance floor had enough podium space to accommodate the exhibitionists and there were plenty of dark corners for private moments.

Least-pretentious crowd

Up in the hills at their stunning villa, Corbis employees from Asia, Europe and the Americas mingled without reserve. Want to dance? Watch the World Cup? Get very drunk? All preferences were catered to.
