Johnson unveils 2 new products

S.C. Johnson & Son, Racine, Wis., unveiled two new product lines at the Food Marketing Institute Show in Chicago--a new brand of allergy-fighting products called AllerCare and Pledge Grab-It, a mop and electrostatic sheet combo that mimics a new brand Procter & Gamble Co. began test-marketing last summer. The AllerCare line includes an aerosol spray, carpet powder and dust mite pillow cover that aim to neutralize dust mites, pollen and other allergy-causing agents. That product will begin shipping to retailers in August, an S.C. Johnson representative said, though she didn't disclose ad plans. No launch date was disclosed for Pledge Grab-It, but it's likely to be rolled nationally before P&G's Swiffer, which began testing in September in Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Pittsfield, Mass.; and Sens, France. Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago, handles the S.C. Johnson products. D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, New York, handles Swiffer.
