Juno reaches 100,000 subscribers

Juno Online Services, a New York-based provider of free e-mail, on Tuesday said it logged its 100,000th free e-mail account--two months after its nationwide rollout at the end of April. To reach more potential users, Juno has formed marketing alliances with Marriott Hotels, Sony Theatres and Budget Rent A Car. "We're handling over 200,000 e-mail messages a day and have thus far seen no indication of any problems that would keep us from scaling that up well into the millions," said Mark Moraes, Juno's VP-network development.
