JWT wins Ford dealers of Southern Florida

J. Walter Thompson USA's Detroit office won the Ford Division dealer ad group account in Southern Florida, which includes 28 dealers in Miami, West Palm Beach and Fort Myers' area. JWT, which now has 53 of 63 Ford's U.S. dealer groups, competed against Beber Silverstein & Partners, Miami; The Ad Team, Miami; and St. John $ Partners, Jacksonville. Incumbent HMC Cooper, Coral Gables, didn't pitch for the account, with estimated annual billings of $17-million. JWT expects to double the staff of seven it has in Coral Gables to handle the account.
