Kimberly-Clark Corp., Irving, Texas, today dropped True North Communications' Foote, Cone & Belding, Chicago, its longtime agency of record for Kleenex tissue, as K-C consolidated global tissue and towel advertising with WPP Group agencies J. Walter Thompson Co. and Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, both New York. JWT picks up an estimated $100 million in additional global spending for Kleenex facial tissues and Kleenex-Cottonelle bath tissue. JWT sister agency Ogilvy & Mather, Chicago, previously handled Kleenex-Cottonelle. O&M retains K-C's key Huggies diaper and related businesses, along with Kotex feminine protection products. Campbell Mithun Esty, Min-neapolis, an Interpublic Group of Cos. agency, continues to handle Depends and Poise adult incontinence products. FCB had been agency for Kleenex since its launch in 1924, except for a hiatus from 1974 to 1983.
