Keebler to sell snacks unit

Keebler Co., Elmhurst, Ill., plans to sell its salty snacks business by yearend in order to concentrate on its cookie and cracker business. Keebler said it plans an aggressive new product and promotion schedule for the second half of the year, with 18 new products scheduled for launch. Keebler salty snacks include O'Boisies, Ripplin's and Tato Wilds potato crisps; Pizzarias and Chacho's tortilla chips and a line of pretzels. Sales for the unit in 1994 were $192 million.
