Kimberly-Clark boosts Scottex marketing through Europe

LONDON -- Kimberly-Clark is creating a top-flight marketing position tooversee its bathroom tissue business in north continental Europe in arestructure following the merger with Scott earlier this year.

Stuart Hepburn, currently with Unilever's personal products, will join onOctober 1 as associate marketing director, responsible mainly for theScottex brand in France, Belgium, Germany and Holland, but also for localbrands in those regions. Marketing teams in each country will remain inplace. J Walter Thompson handles Scottex across Europe.

The European marketing task was already being carried out by the existingteam, but this move puts overall responsibility at a higher level, sayscorporate communications director Sarah Portway. K-C markets Andrex, notScottex, in the U.K. McCann-Erickson handles that account.
