Jeep's second annual Hispanic art contest, dubbed "The Art That Moves Us," is expanding nationally from the three markets in which it was held in '96. Chrysler Corp.'s Hispanic agency, Montemayor & Asociados, San Antonio, created the contest, and breaks national and spot TV and radio ads in mid-July backing the competition, which ends Sept. 22. Last year's winner was Alex Kalz, whose Jeep-inspired oil painting (r.) was titled "Jeep Up."
the big push: A converse image for Rodman
Converse this week unleashes an ad push for the All Star 91 basketball shoe, endorsed by NBA bad boy Dennis Rodman. The spot has Mr. Rodman, of the championship Chicago Bulls, questioning viewers about their perceptions of him. The Worm's murky musings suggest it's merely his hair color, tattoos and individualism that prevent fans from seeing him for his on-court accomplishments.
