Latam live entertainment company goes online

MEXICO CITY--Latin America's leading live entertainment company, Corporacion Interamericana de Entretenimiento (CIE), will soon provide content on Web sites and

CIE signed an agreement with Mexican software company Aspel whereby CIE will stock Aspel's two Internet sites with content such as exclusive access to online concerts, back-stage "visits," chats with artists, sports stars and other celebrities, as well as ticket sales.

CIE CEO and Director General Alejandro Soberon Kuri says: "We're sure that the know-how, technological resources, critical mass and market penetration of and, along with the great variety of entertainment content offered by CIE, will result in specialized Internet sites with the best attractions and added value, both for the general public as well as sponsors and advertisers in the region."

Both sites have operations in Mexico and Argentina and together count more than 620,000 subscribers and approximately 40 million page views per month.

In return, CIE will have the option to acquire an 85% stake inLatiEntertainment Inc., Aspel's subsidiary that controls and

CIE promotes live events as well as operates entertainment venues and automated ticket sales in Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Spain and the U.S.

Elfoco is a portal dedicated to entertainment and sports for the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking world, while is a gateway offering users free e-mail, news content, antivirus software and electronic agendas, among other services.
