Leap Group, Chicago, reported a $2.7 million loss for the six months ended July 31 vs. net income of $257,000 in the year-ago period. Revenue climbed to $12 million, up 65.2% over last year. For the three months ended July 31, the loss was $1.6 million compared to net income of $442,000 a year ago, on revenues of $7.6 million, up 44.2%. Leap Group attributed the loss to "infrastructure" investments. Leap Group launched Quantum Leap Communications, a new-media technology subsidiary, in January and acquired YAR Communications, a multicultural communications company, in April.
