Leo Burnett creates Indonesian alliance

JAKARTA -- Leo Burnett Co. has set up an alliance with Indonesian advertising agency Kreasindo Ciptapariwara to be named Leo Burnett Kreasindo Indonesia, or LKBI in its short.

The two agencies have had working relationship for four years limited to "need basis," says Kreasindo's Technical Advisor Berndt Soderbom, whereby the Indonesian agency tapped into Burnett's resources and received assistance and consultancy whenever necessary.

Under the new alliance, LBKI will be part of the Leo Group network and has agreed to work together in areas providing technical support for LBKI and providing referral of clients for LBKI, says Mr. Soderom.

"Burnett's global network strength and leadership in Asia Pacific also provide us with a unique foundation for developing international standard creative out of Indonesia," he adds.

Steve Gatfield, regional managing director of Leo Burnett Asia Pacific, says the alliance will help Leo Burnett to achieve its long-term goal of establishing the best "brand communications network across Asia-Pacific."

LKBI's clients will include Bank Danamon, Bank BNI, Coca-Cola Co., Frisian Flag, Kellogg Co., LEVISO, Matahari Group, Nutricia, Philip Morris, Procter & Gamble Co. and Van Melle. The agency will have more than 100 employees.

Kreasindo was launched in 1990.
