Low PC penetration, credit card usage hinder Latin American Web penetration

Internet businesses looking to penetrate the expected $8.3 billion Internet commerce market in Latin America in 2005 must devise strategies to separate the market's opportunities from its many barriers, including low credit card adoption and poor product fulfillment infrastructure, according to a new Jupiter Communications report released during Jupiter's Internet Commerce Forum-Latin America. The consultancy warned that simple replication of existing business models will not succeed in Latin America; new technologies will be needed to ensure online business will succeed there.
