announces shutdown, big sale

Women's fitness-apparel retailer is closing its Web store and catalog Feb. 9, and it is rolling out a series of sales to reduce inventory. In an e-mail to customers, the retailer said it will continue operating its lucy retail store in New York City - and in fact plans to open more bricks-and-mortar outlets this year - but that the "high cost of doing business on the Internet has made it impossible to keep the Web site open at this time."
