NEW YORK-Deborah Malone, 36, has been promoted to the new post of director of international sales & marketing for the Ad Age Group with specific responsibilities for Advertising Age International.

She had been international sales manager of Ad Age International.

In making the announcement, Edward R. Erhardt, Ad Age VP-publisher, said, "Deb's tireless efforts on Ad Age International have won her wide respect and acclaim in the advertising and marketing community around the world. In fact, just recently Deb was named to the prestigious worldwide International Advertising Assn. board of directors as VP-professional development."

Other publications in the Ad Age Group include Advertising Age's Business Marketing, Advertising Age's Creativity and Advertising Age's Euromarketing.

Ms. Malone, who started her career as an English and Spanish instructor at Long Island University, joined Ad Age as a sales representative in 1988 and was named international sales manager in 1991. Her previous publishing experience included stints as a sales representative at Dow Jones' Barron's, Lebhar-Friedman Inc.'s Drug Store News and International Thomson's Non-Foods Merchandising.

"1995 will be a big year for AAI and for all of the Ad Age Group's efforts in the international arena," Mr. Erhardt said. "Deb's hard drive, hard work and professional credentials will serve Ad Age and Crain well as the world continues to become a smaller place for providers of quality, accurate information about advertising and media."
