J. Richard Dindorf, 58, a research, marketing and communications executive, died Oct. 2 in New York, after suffering a stroke. Mr. Dindorf was one of the architects of Brand Equity Systems, a comprehensive system for determining the incremental value of a brand name. He founded Strategic Communications, a marketing and communications consultancy, and earlier worked for Dancer, Fitzgerald, Sample; Benton & Bowles; Norman, Craig & Kummel; BBDO; and Rosenfeld, Sirowitz & Lawson.
