Sara Weller, who jumped from U.K. marketing manager for the Mars group of brands to the newly- created position of consumer development director for Europe just last month, has handed in her resignation to join Abbey National as director customer marketing. She starts there on December 9.
Weller's role at Mars gave her charge of all Mars' new product development teams working independently around Europe, as part of a streamlining of the European marketing team which also saw Tom Jasinski, a former Bates senior VP and management representative on the Mars account in New York, appointed to the new Brussels-based post of brand communications director.
Mars Confectionery in the U.K. will only say its "best wishes" go with Weller and that is is currently seeking a replacement for the position.
