McCann helps launch German online beauty site

MUNICH--VitaGo., a new online beauty products retailer, has appointed McCann-Erickson Worldwide, Frankfurt, to handle its $10 million launch account.

McCann won the business following a three-way pitch including BBDO Worldwide, Duesseldorf, and D'Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles, Hamburg.

VitaGo. is selling a wide range of 15,000 beauty goods that include health and sports nutritional products.

VitaGo. will deliver goods free of charge for orders worth more than $28. Otherwise, a mailing fee of $2.54 will be added. Prices will be similar to those charged by drugstore chains.

The online retailer has plans to expand in other European markets, including Italy, France and the U.K. in February 2000.
