McGraw-Hill up for year

McGraw-Hill Cos. reported net income for 1995 was up 11.8% to $227.1 million. Revenue for the year grew 6.3% to $2.9 billion. Revenue for information and media services, which includes Business Week and the company's trade magazines, grew 7% to $913 million while operating profit increased 6.2% to $115.1 million. The company said the downsizing that began in the fourth quarter will reduce staff by 750 to 800 people, or 5% of the work force.
