MCI Communications Corp. today unveils a suite of products aimed at ad and public relations agencies and marketing executives.

Marketing Media Alternatives is a new feature added to the networkMCI stable of services.

A national campaign for the service breaks this week on TV and in trade publications.

Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, New York, created the campaign.

MCI also crafted a direct mail campaign that includes elaborate portfolios featuring a case study of a fictitious company, Fusion Farms, which together with its agency uses MCI products and service to introduce new products.


"Our research shows us that there's a real need to get many companies in the advertising and marketing industries up to speed with technology," said Mark Pettit, MCI director of corporate communications. "Large and small agencies alike are constantly losing business to more technologically savvy new-media shops."

Marketing Media Alternatives can help companies integrate technologies including Internet/intranets, e-mail, conferencing and prepaid cards. MCI earlier this year tapped CKS Partners, Cupertino, Calif., to handle creation of its Web site and much of its online advertising and marketing.
