Mercury Mail raises capital for marketing

E-mail information service Mercury Mail, Denver, raised $5.5 million in second-round funding; the capital will help the company's advertising and marketing budgets, plans to partner with additional news sources, and the hiring of senior-level staff. The Centennial Funds of Denver, Boulder Ventures, Telecom Partners, and Softbank made investments in the business. Mercury Mail launched June 18 and has more than 150,000 subscribers.
