Miller Brewing Co. says it is testing a new beer called Southpaw Light in Orlando; Charlotte, N.C.; Kansas City, Mo.; and Baton Rouge, La., in a limited number of on-premise locations. The beer carries the Plank Road Brewery name, rather than Miller. Young & Rubicam, Chicago, will use an "If we weren't different, we'd be the same" theme in limited radio, print and outdoor ads.
Winning cars tout awards
Two auto marketers are gearing up campaigns to capitalize on winning separate awards from auto enthusiast magazines. Chrysler Corp.'s Dodge division Tuesday night begins airing a commercial touting the Dodge Caravan as Motor Trend's "Car of the Year," the first time a minivan has won the honor. American Honda Motor Co. will break advertising Nov. 24 to mark the Honda Civic winning Automobile's Automobile of the Year Award.
