BURBANK, Calif.-Richard D. Nanula, 34, will lead the Disney Store on its ambitious expansion from 335 to 600 stores worldwide by 1998.
Disney Store Worldwide named Mr. Nanula president. He will remain exec VP-chief financial officer of Walt Disney Co. until a successor is named.
As president, Mr. Nanula is in charge of operations, marketing and business strategy of the Disney Store and Walt Disney Gallery, its prototype retail-entertainment center in Santa Ana.
Mr. Nanula succeeds Paul Pressler, 38, who was named president of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. Mr. Pressler succeeds Jack Lindquist, who retired.

SOUTHFIELD, Mich.-Bozell Worldwide chose Gary Topolewski to be its top Detroit area creative at the merged Bozell and CME KHBB offices, which just completed consolidating the two staffs into one location.
Mr. Topolewski takes the new title of managing partner-executive creative director. He had been managing partner-creative.
William Morden Jr. succeeds Mr. Topolewski from senior VP-creative director at Lintas Campbell-Ewald, Warren.

New York-Retailer and philanthropist Milton J. Petrie, 92, died Nov. 6 of lung and kidney problems at his Manhattan home.
Mr. Petrie made his fortune, estimated at $940 million by Forbes, in retailing as founder and chairman of Petrie Stores Corp., Secaucus, N.J. The moderate-priced chain of women's clothing stores owns 14.1% of the shares of Toys "R" Us.
He had planned to retire at the Dec. 6 shareholders' meeting.
William R. Hesse, 80, former Benton & Bowles, New York, president-CEO and credited with saving the American Association of Advertising Agencies in 1978, died Nov. 8 in Yarmouth Port, Mass., after a brief illness. He served a year as interim Four A's president after the sudden death of John Crichton. Mr. Hesse, athletic as a youth and who served in World War II, began his marketing career in 1937 at Procter & Gamble Co., Cincinnati.
Elenore Hangley, 63, former exec VP-operations, Advertising Council, died Nov. 5 of cancer at an Englewood, N.J., hospital.
