Nabisco Holdings said it signed an agreement to acquire Cornnuts, the Alameda, Calif.-based snack producer, for an undisclosed amount. The company said it is interested in expanding its snack brand presence and acquiring the strong convenience store distribution channel for Cornnuts, a brand with an estimated $45 million in sales. Nabisco is expected to move the account from its current agency, Ketchum Advertising, San Francisco, to one on its snack roster, either McCann-Erickson or Foote, Cone & Belding, both New York. Nabisco said it hasn't yet formulated an advertising plan for Cornnuts.
