Netcentives expands to reward purchasing behavior offline and online

Netcentives, provider of e-marketing infrastructure software and services, is expanding its consumer incentive programs by acquiring Universal Value Network for approximately $24.8 million. UVN uses payment card data to recognize and reward online and offline purchasing behavior, such as the UVN-powered merchant loyalty programs run by Eddie Bauer, United Airlines Mileage Plus Shopping and Delta SkyMiles Shopping. The acquisition also gives Netcentives an equity ownership in Golden Retriever Systems, which provides connectivity to 90% of all payment card transactions and serves as a significant source of data for payment card loyalty programs.
