Startec Global sends hero to win Filipino consumers

Startec Global Communications Co. is airing a new animated TV commercial featuring a super hero character. The spot runs in English during Filipino programming on local cable channels in Chicago, Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, Tampa and Washington. Print ads, also in English, support and will be adapted to appear in Arabic, Polish and Russian. TV will run in Arabic and Polish. A Partnership, New York, handles creative and media.

DaimlerChrysler supports newly launched NiaOnline

DaimlerChrysler signed a multiyear agreement with NiaOnline, a newly launched Web site with editorial content and interactive features for African-American women. The site offers online shopping and an offline direct-mail catalog. Don Coleman Advertising, Southfield, Mich., handles creative. Unity Media, New York, handles media. NiaOnline is running print ads in Essence and Heart & Soul. Radio and urban transit ads are under consideration.

Telemundo Networks signs with Mexican TV producer

Telemundo Network and Mexican TV production company Argos Comunicacion have signed a three-year co-production joint venture to create comedy, news, drama, reality and novela programs.
