Internet marketing service WebPromote picked NetCreations to manage its opt-in e-mail list of 213,332 names. NetCreations, which specializes in opt-in e-mail marketing, will now manage a database of 894,445 e-mail addresses of Internet users who have signed up to receive information about business, employment, computing, entertainment, health, travel and other topics.

Rocky Mountain News' Web site launched, a free Internet birth announcement service that includes baby's name and birth information, photo and an interactive guest book for friends and family to sign. Each announcement will be posted for three months on the site.

Cox Interactive Media's new site is reaching out to the cycling audience. The site draws mountain biking content from Outdoor Life Network, a 24-hour outdoor cable TV network, and competitive cycling journal VeloNews. Charter advertisers on the site include Christy Sports, Pearl Izumi, Reynolds USA and Specialized Bikes.
