Internet publisher CNET on Oct. 26 reported operating income of $1.1 million for the third quarter, compared to an operating loss of $6.3 million in the third quarter of 1997. Revenues for the quarter were $14.4 million, up 66% from the same quarter a year ago.

Salon Magazine named Odiorne, Wilde, Narraway & Partners, San Francisco, its first agency of record. Odiorne Wilde will create a national brand campaign for the online magazine.
