Newspaper ads up 6.1% for half

Newspaper Association of America reports that U.S. newspapers posted higher ad revenues for the first six months of 1995, rising 6.1% to $16.74 billion. Classified advertising grew the most, followed by retail and national advertising.

Value adds hourly rental rate Value Rent-A-Car, Boca Raton, Fla., said it will begin offering an hourly rate option that starts at 99 cents per hour. "While we are giving the customer control on how they rent from us, we are also positioning Value Rent-A-Car as an innovator in the car rental industry," said Brad Partridge, VP-sales and marketing. He said the per-hour pricing option will increase consumer awareness of Value Rent-A-Car overall and give the company a highly memorable marketing niche.
