The New York Times and Scholastic Inc., New York, next month will debut The New York Times Upfront, an ad-supported news magazine targeting teens. Articles in the magazine will be culled primarily from the pages of The New York Times, but also will include original material. Starting in September, the magazine will be published every two weeks, with online updates, throughout the school year, for a total of 18 issues. Target circulation for next year is 300,000. The magazine will replace Scholastic Update, itself a relaunch of Senior Scholastic.
