Olds spot on Olympics

Oldsmobile's 1996 Bravada sport utility vehicle makes its TV debut during the telecast of the Olympics opening ceremonies on NBC Friday. The 30-second spot from Leo Burnett USA, Chicago, focuses on the suv's SmarTrak system, which automatically shifts into four-wheel drive when needed. The ad will also be used for the '97 model, which has subtle changes. The General Motors division changed its initial plans for a regional Bravada blitz after shifting ad spending from undisclosed other Olds vehicles, Assistant Brand Manager Jim Van Kirk said.
