Outdoor ad spending up

Spending on outdoor advertising for 1998 was $2.33 billion, up 9.1% over 1997, according to industry figures released today by New York-based Outdoor Advertising Association of America. The top five spenders for outdoor advertising, according to Competitive Media Reporting, were local services and amusements; public transportation, hotels and resorts; miscellaneous merchandise; restaurants; and retail.
