Paul Kershisnik Named Wendy's Interim CMO

Former Senior VP-Marketing Strategy and Innovation Replaces Ian Rowden

CHICAGO ( -- Wendy's International has named Paul Kershisnik interim chief marketing officer. Mr. Kershisnik, previously senior VP-marketing strategy and innovation, replaces Ian Rowden, who stepped down in December. Mr. Rowden has since taken over Saatchi & Saatchi's Asia-Pacific operation. Saatchi is one of Wendys' agencies.

The chain simultaneously moved Bob Holtcamp from VP-brand management to senior VP. The two men have been dividing Mr. Rowden's duties since December. Wendy's additionally identified Mr. Kershisnik as a "candidate" to replace Mr. Rowden in the national search, currently being conducted by Spencer Stuart.

Transition to 'Waaaay Better'
"Paul, Bob and the marketing team are executing our important advertising transition to the 'Waaaay Better' campaign and they are implementing key elements of Phase 2 of our strategic plan to re-ignite sales growth," CEO Kerrii Anderson said in a statement.

Since Mr. Rowden's departure, Wendy's has shifted primary account responsibilities to MDC Partners' Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners.

In his 22-year marketing career, Mr. Kershisnik has worked with Pizza Hut, PepsiCo, General Mills and Sprint. He was VP-new product innovation and R&D for Mrs. Fields Famous Brands before joining Wendy's.
