A.C. Nielsen Co., Wilton, Conn., named Barry Holt, 50, senior VP-global communications, from VP-corporate communications at Philip Morris Cos. Dun & Bradstreet will spin off the $1.3 billion A.C. Nielsen division as a separate public company in October.

Cadbury Schweppes, London, named John Sunderland to succeed David Wellings as group chief executive when Mr. Wellings retires in September. Mr. Sunderland has been managing director-group confectionery and a member of the board since 1993. "A number of senior management moves will follow as a consequence of John Sunderland's appointment and these will be announced in due course," the company said on Monday.

Avon Products, New York, expanding its global management team, announced several new positions: Andrea Jung, 37, to corporate senior VP and president-global marketing, while retaining responsibility for North American marketing operations and global brands strategy development. Susan Kropf, 47, adds senior VP and president-new and emerging markets to the same post for Eastern Europe. Brian Martin, 46, VP-corporate communications, was promoted to senior VP.

Rod McLeod has resigned as exec VP-sales, marketing and passenger services from Royal Caribbean Cruises, Miami; no replacement has been named.
