CHICAGO: Point-of-Purchase Advertising Institute presented its Display of the Year Awards last week at the Sheraton Towers. Presenters William Smith (l.), demand planning manager, Procter & Gamble Co., and David Abramson (r.), chief operating officer, Rapid Displays, flank award winners John Halliday, VP-Europe, and Mike Haddon, program manager, both of RTC Industries, which produced the display; and Helen Harwood, retail resources manager for equipment sales, Nike. Nike and RTC won a Display of the Year award in the multinational category.

NEW YORK: Among the inductees into the American Advertising Federation's Hall of Fame at the Waldorf-Astoria was the late Gertrude Crain, former chairman of Crain Communications, the publisher of Advertising Age. Attending the luncheon were (l. to r.): Wally Snyder, president-CEO, AAF; and Rance Crain, president, and Keith E. Crain, chairman, both of Crain Communications, who accepted the award on behalf of their mother.
