PARIS -- PSA Peugeot-Citroen has put its $250 million domestic media planning account into review, inviting all of the country's major media agencies to pitch.

Havas Advertising-owned MPG Media Planning, Paris, is seen as the favorite to retain the account -- France's largest consolidated media business -- as creative work on Peugeot and Citroen is directed from Paris by two divisions of the Havas-owned Euro RSCG Worldwide network.

Carat France, which won a massive pitch in mid-2000 to handle global media planning for PSA's French rival Renault, is the only major media agency not expected to take part in the competition.

PSA is expected to hear pitches from short-listed agencies this summer, with a decision likely to be made by early fall. -- Lawrence J. Speer
