(Aug. 9, 2001) -- Honeywell International's Prestone Products, Danbury, Conn., said it inked a deal with the National Football League to promote its antifreeze during the upcoming season.

The deal gives Prestone an undisclosed number of ad minutes during NFL broadcasts. A spokeswoman said the media negotiations are still being finalized. She also said Prestone dropped its sponsorship as NASCAR's official antifreeze.

Prestone's antifreeze products will feature NFL team-specific packaging, with a linked consumer promotion offering a trip to the next Super Bowl.

Interpublic Group of Cos.' McCann-Erickson, Troy, Mich., won the estimated $15 million creative and media account in January after a review. The agency's first work is due to break next month. -- Jean Halliday
