Saatchi & Saatchi X Will Focus on In-Store Advertising

LONDON ( -- Publicis Groupe today announced it is launching a new international retail marketing network, called Saatchi & Saatchi X, built around its acquisition of the Fayetteville, Ark.-based shopper marketing agency ThompsonMurray.

The primary focus of the new network will be in-store marketing communications.

A press statement issued by the company said ThompsonMurray's CEO, Andy Murray, will become CEO of the new network, which opens with offices in Fayetteville, New York, Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Toronto, London, Geneva and Sydney.

Kevin Roberts, worldwide CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, said in the statement, "Today's shopping experience needs revitalizing. More and more purchasing and switching decisions on brands are made in-store."

ThompsonMurray was founded in 1997 and specializes in in-store communication, package design and product innovation. Its clients include Procter & Gamble Co., Wal-Mart, Gerber, M.M. Smucker Co., LeapFrog, Sunbeam and Scotts Co.

Mr. Murray will report to Mr. Roberts, who takes on the additional role of chairman of Saatchi & Saatchi X. Mel Korn, CEO of Publicis Collaborative Marketing Worldwide, becomes vice chairman, and ThompsonMurray's chief creative officer, Sean Womack, becomes creative director of Saatchi & Saatchi X.
