R&R keeps Las Vegas account

Published on .

Incumbent R&R Advertising, Las Vegas, maintains control of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority's estimated $27 to $30 million annual account. The agency, which has held the assignment since 1980, asked the LVCVA to seek competitive bids late last year. The request followed criticism from some community leaders that R&R had too sweet of a deal with the convention bureau. Colby Effler & Partners, Santa Monica, Calif., and a partnership of Young & Rubicam, San Francisco, and The Merica Agency, Las Vegas, had sought the account.
