Real Media, New York, has upgraded its Open AdStream ad serving software. One of the new features is a ``privacy proxy,'' which blocks third-party ad servers from tracking Web visitors across multiple sites and building user profiles, which Real Media says will help protect consumer online privacy. Other features include ad targeting by state and ZIP code, and enhanced reporting capabilities. Clients that have received the upgraded software include The New York Times, The Washington Post, Playboy and Lexis-Nexis.
