Regionalization of CNN attracts more ads

LONDON -- CNN International's European feed has posted advertising revenue 66% higher in the first quarter of 1998 compared to the same period a year ago, according to the company.

"This is a very early and very positive response to our regionalization strategy," says Chris Cramer, president of CNN International. CNN International launched its new regionalized schedule of programming last September.

CNN International already has 38 advertisers new to the European feed this year, according to Eric Clemenceau, senior VPadvertising sales, Turner Broadcasting System Europe.

CNN International's European service now reaches more than 100 million cable and satellite households across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
