HONG KONG--Saatchi & Saatchi has appointed Neil Hardwick as CEO of its Taiwan office after five years in Hungary as CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, Budapest. He succeeds King Lai, who was CEO, Taiwan, based in Taipei. Mr. Lai, who was also CEO of mainland China, left the agency to join NetEase, China's most popular Web portal, as CEO. Mr. Lai's China duties have been taken over by CEO Asia Patrick Pitcher in Hong Kong.

The network also appointed Peter Soh as CEO-executive creative director of its Shanghai office. On the creative front, he succeeds Trefor Thomas, formerly the Shanghai office's creative director, who has relocated to the Singapore office as integrated director for below-the-line promotions and design. The CEO position in Shanghai is new, following an agency reorganization. Previously, Wei Wei Chen divided her time between Beijing and Shanghai as general manger of both offices, but with China's improved economy, she has been promoted to CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, Beijing.

Mr. Soh spent the last two years consulting for clients such as Singapore Press Holdings and freelancing for agencies such as M&C Saatchi, before which he was a executive creative director and partner at Fong, Haque & Soh in his native Singapore, which was sold to Omnicom Group's TBWA Worldwide nearly three years ago.
